The large sculpture Namaste initially exhibited (July 2023 through June 2024) at the Artscape 7 Public Art Exhibition, Fayetteville NC, sponsored by the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County.. The sculpture has been purchased and now is displayed at the Cape Fear Botannical Garden, Fayetteville, NC.
Namaste is an arrangement of a multi-colored figure and a black/grey figure . The sculptures are kinetic. Curved forms open towards each other while the wind-driven kinetic motion suggests greeting, acknowledgement, and respect. Lively images of the garden are reflected from the motion of the sculpture surfaces. For each sculpture geometric shapes and placement are identical on each side. With each figure, however, the colors of the shapes are different from side/side.
The sculpture is designed for outdoor placement, with minimal maintenance of the colored surfaces. Construction metal is stainless steel , and finishes are (automotive grade) urethane/acrylic paints.
